legal aid camp, and "casa lolo" !

the legal aid cell of ILS law college held its first legal aid camp of this academic year today (5th BSL division) . it was held at an NGO called "Deep Graha" in Hadapsar. we met at college at 12.30, left only by 1.10, reached there by 2. waited for some time for people to show up!

the program consisted of a few talks about indian law of succession, consumer protection, child marriage and domestic violence act.then we performed a skit on child marriage and domestic violence. it went off well, we had about 40 spectators, mostly women and children of all ages. we had expected something totally different...our coordinator made us believe it was to be outdoors, in some village. but this was an ngo well within the city limits.

however, none of them really asked us any questions in the end. which makes me think maybe the target wasnt right. or also..maybe they dont like asking strangers their personal queries.

at the end they served us tea, the legal aid cell bought vada pavs and appy for us! so we had that while waiting for the bus back. got back to college and got a cold coffee treat at the canteen!

i also finally discovered an awesome shawarma place in pune - called "Casa Lolo"! its right opposite the entrance to kamala nehru park. despite how corny the name sounds, it serves really good shawarma rolls. the falafel roll is very good. reasonable priced - shawarma roll was 40 bucks.
